European Accessibility Act
EU law (applying since June 2025) requiring consumer-facing services — e-commerce, banking, transport, telecoms — to be accessible under EN 301 549, which applies WCAG criteria to documents like invoices, statements, and manuals.
The EAA's document tail is the part programs forget: the website gets fixed while the PDFs customers must read stay broken. National enforcement began arriving in 2025–2026, with first cases naming major retailers.
